Dialogues definitely needed to be more punch-packed and clapworthy, especially those dealing with nationalism. While the first half is boring at places and can do with some clipping, the post-interval portion is quite racy.
All the same, some light moments, the antakshri, the romantic portion and action scenes keep the audience interest alive. For instance, people are shown crossing the Indian border and entering the neighbouring country as if they were taking a walk in the park! The hero, who is a wanted criminal, taking charge of the security checkpost on the border without any problem is also not easily digestible. Secondly, too many cinematic liberties have been taken by the writer and director, something which should have been avoided in a serious film like this. Screenplay is good except that some portions are unnecessarily lengthy. Karan Razdan’s story is quite interesting, though not very new. In the process, he succeeds in reforming a group of hardcore terrorists and himself turns over a new leaf and even saves the country’s honour.
When his father is killed, the son, who is in jail, escapes from there to avenge his father’s murder. The nation-loving boy falls in love with a rich girl whose father, unable to digest this fact, orders the extermination of the guy’s father with whom the girl’s father even otherwise had to settle old scores. Creations’ Diljale ( A) is a violent love story of a promising nationalist who, due to circumstances, is forced to take to the gun and becomes the most dreaded anti-national element. But today, success has a different dimension," he concludes.S.P. "The way I see it, Mayamruga is what we see from a distance and we chase that. We will have artistes and technicians participating in groups of five in each episode," the director saysĪccording to Seetharam, Mayamruga was a turning point in the lives of all those who were part of it. Getting back to television channels was not viable because they needed fresh content, and Bhoomika Talkies came forward to put it up on their YouTube channel," he says. So I began digging in my serial basket and got hold of Mayamruga. The serial Magalu Janaki, which I directed, had to be stopped. So what made him bring Mayamruga onto a streaming platform? "It all began during the first lockdown (last year). There are a lot of audiences who are excited about showing it to their children and have a discussion with them," he says. We expect the audience will re-live bitter-sweet feelings when they watch the serial again. "Twenty-two years ago, Mayamruga was a product made out of innocence," says Seetharam, adding that the show will be special for those who watched it then and will re-ignite old memories now. Seetharam says that the show has been technically re-worked for colour grading and better audio. Mayamruga revolves around two female protagonists – Malavika and Sri Lakshmi – who battle social norms about what women are allowed to do. Already, since April, it is being re-telecast abroad on KOTT (Kannada OTT), a streaming channel run by the Kannada Sangha in Los Angeles.

Fans of the widely popular Kannada soap Mayamruga are in for a treat – the series' makers have upgraded the show technically and will re-telecast it from June 4.
